Martin Pouret Orleans Mustard

In 1580, the vinegar and mustard producers in Orleans received official recognition for the quality of their work through royal patents. In 2002, M. Jean-Francois Martin the Managing Director of Martin Pouret and Alain Passard, head chef of L'Arpege the three Michelin star restaurant in Paris, decided to revive the original recipe of the Orleans Mustard and dedicate it to their ancestors and the forgotten of World War II.
The Orleans Mustard is produced using a recipe based on the local know how (savoir faire). The mustard grains are crushed using a stone mill, exactly as the method was all those years ago. Martin Pouret have chosen high quality ingredients such as the fine ocean salt of Guerande in order to give their mustard a special delicate flavour.
