These are natural green peppercorns from Madagascar - the younger, less mature berry, picked from the same plant as the better-known black/white peppercorn. Madagascar is by far the best region for producing green peppercorns, which can be quite hot and fruity, but with a more subtle flavour in comparison to black and white peppercorns. They are excellent for making sauces and marinades, and come beautifully presented in this traditional 'French' tin.
